International sports brand PUMA has combined efforts with local illustrator & designer Daniel Ting Chong to recreate both the vintage Duplex OG & the modernized Duplex EVO. The sneakers are uniquely African with inspiration being taken from traditional Zulu & Xhosa beliefs.

The Duplex OG was inspired by the Supreme Creator or in cultural Zulu terms ‘Unkulunkulu’. The sneaker boasts a premium nubuck suede on the perforated upper featuring artwork of Unkulunku on the tongue.

The second sneaker is the modern Duplex EVO with references to the Goddess of Rivers in traditional Xhosa culture otherwise known as Mamlambo which can be seen by the exclusively green colorway.

The PUMA x Daniel Ting Chong Duplex OG and Duplex Evo will be available for purchase from 10 December at PUMA SELECT in Bree Street, Cape Town and Braamfontein, Johannesburg, Shelflife and Cop Capital. Exclusive to the first hundred pairs purchased is a custom made pair of Daniel Ting Chong socks, two metal pin badges containing the symbols of Unkulunkulu & Mamlambo, a customized pencil and tote bag.
