NAO – Fool to love

Nao, pronounced Nay-O is a British singer-songwriter from East London. NAO’s sound can only be described as eclectic with very retro synthisized R&B chords, Funk baselines as well as fills, pops and white noise rises which hale from electronic music. NAO has created a spontaneous take on R&B and Funk that dissolves the notion of perfection until it becomes something fluid and beautiful.

KAYTRANADA ft SYD – You’re the one

A standout track off his 99.9% album is Kaytranada’s You’re The One featuring the lead vocalist of The Internet, Syd tha kid. Like any other Kaytranada beat the track hones a sticky baseline, flawless in-your-face percussion and subtle vocals that add that hint of nostalgia.

Chance the rapper recruits Future on “smoke break” a standout from his Colouring book mixtape. In this track Chance raps about how he’d love to return to the simpler days and also about the heavy loads of adulthood: to take a break, slow things down with a smoke break. Future’s verse mixed with the uplifting gospel beat is definitely one of the standout moments from this track.
