Where to shop in Cape Town

Shops play a major role in my life, obviously, so over the past year I have invested a lot of time in finding the right places to shop for both local and international brands at good prices! A lot of people choose to be quite one-sided when it comes to where they shop, sticking to favorites like Topman or Markhams. The problem is that, after a while, everyone starts looking the same because these places do not have a lot of variety, in my opinion at least.

There is nothing wrong with shopping at commercial places, don’t get me wrong, but if you are looking to up your game, then you need to open your eyes to what is out there and by that I don’t mean online, I mean right here in our backyard:

Boaston Society:

This store, owned by Elisha Mpofu, a street king himself, is the perfect place to shop for local and international brands which aren’t as popular as they should be, to the everyday shopper. As soon as you walk in, you feel like a child in a toy store. The variety is crazy; from all-white UNNNCD ensembles to bicycles…yes bicycles. Their shoe collection is even better and will quickly turn you into a sneaker-head whether you like it or not. So, take some time out and visit this place.

A Store:

This place is amazing. In terms of décor, they have outdone themselves by doing very little. The bare cement floor makes for a rugged industrial feel which helps bring out everything else from the books and magazines to the crazy shoe collection they have! From Adidas Originals Superstars to Nike Air Max, this place will not disappoint. As for their clothing, don’t let the size of the store fool you, they have a lot of stock. I especially liked their Adidas Originals x Pharrell bomber jackets!

BASELINE:

Tucked away at the corner of Kloof Street, this place just screams SKATER SHOP! From the moment I walked I knew exactly what kind of clothing and shoes I should expect. It is a bit cramped but that just makes it that much easier to get help from the constantly busy staff. The store, is a place I will definitely be visiting when I am looking to get my cap-game on another level or when I’m looking for HUF or Diamond Supply Co. gear!
